What Birth Doula Support looks like

Prenatal Visits

During prenatal visits, we will meet in the comfort of your home to discuss your pregnancy, your births plans, and everything in between. This is your opportunity to share your concerns, wishes, anxieties, and ask questions. I typically schedule these visits at 20 weeks and 36 weeks.

Education & resources

I provide educational handouts for you during prenatal visits that go over a lot of helpful information as you navigate all the decisions faced during pregnancy and birth. We also discuss what types of questions you should ask your provider, and how to ask questions and makes decisions in the moment during birth.

Birth preferences

I will help you create a birth plan using a template and will discuss all relevant options with you. While we cannot predict the future or plan everything, it' still important to know what all your options are, what your goals are, and know how to navigate through decisions as they come up.

Labor prep

During our second prenatal meeting we focus on preparing for labor, what to expect, when to call me, what the stages of labor look like, and when to leave for your birth place. This is also when I go over comfort techniques, counter pressure, and what tools I provide.

On-Call Support

At 37 weeks pregnant, I officially go on-call for you until your birth your baby. My phone is on me 24/7 ready to communicate with you as soon as you have signs of labor. We will decide together when it is best for me to join you. I provide continuous support during labor + birth for you and serve to best suit your needs.

Postpartum visits

At least one postpartum visit is included in all packages where I come to your home within the first two weeks postpartum. This is your opportunity to debrief your birth and discuss anything you liked/disliked. We also discuss how you are doing, how baby is doing, and if you need any further support from me or another professional. For further postpartum support, I offer a postpartum package that includes in-home visits.

DOUBLE DOULA BIRTH PACKAGE $1,500

This package offers expecting parents the ultimate support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum by providing the expertise of two birth doulas. I will work alongside Kiley Dawes with Journey to Joy Birth to provide comprehensive care.

  • 2 dedicated doulas will work together to ensure 24/7 coverage, so you'll always have someone available to provide emotional, physical, and informational support throughout your pregnancy.
  • 2 prenatal visits with both doulas to talk in depth and prepare you for labor, discuss your birth preferences, and ensure you're fully equipped with relaxation techniques, coping strategies, and practical knowledge.
  • Assistance in creating a birth plan. We will help you create birth preferences that align with your goals, empowering you with information to make informed decisions every step of the way.
  • Continuous labor support and birth attendance from both doulas. While one doula provides hands-on comfort measures, guidance, encouragement, the other will be assisting behind the scenes and will rotate to provide rest and fresh energy.
  • Sibling support (for home births)-while one doula provides hands-on support for mom, the other doula can provide sibling support to keep the older children calm, engaged, and informed in age-appropriate ways during the birth. This ensures your family can be together without the stress of managing children during labor.
  • 2 postpartum visits from both doulas together to provide continued support. During these visits we will focus on breastfeeding support, newborn care, and adjusting to your new routine as parents.

*gift baskets include non-toxic/organic personal care items
